The Life of the Best of Creation
The biographical journey (Seerah) of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the living demonstration of the Quran. Studying his life inspires deep love, moral integrity, resilience through adversity, and compassionate leadership.
Major Chronological Epochs of the Seerah
1. Birth & Early Life (570–610 CE)
Born in Makkah in the Year of the Elephant into the noble Banu Hashim clan of Quraysh. Orphaned early, he was raised by his grandfather Abdul Muttalib and later his uncle Abu Talib. He earned universal acclaim as As-Sadiq (The Truthful) and Al-Amin (The Trustworthy). At age 25, he married Sayyidah Khadijah (RA).
2. The First Revelation & Makkan Da'wah (610–622 CE)
At age 40 in Cave Hira, Archangel Jibril brought the first divine words: "Iqra' bismi Rabbikalladhi khalaq" (Surah Al-Alaq 96:1). The Prophet called Makkah to Tawheed, facing severe persecution, social boycott, and personal grief during the Year of Sorrow (Aam al-Huzn), followed by the miraculous Night Journey and Ascension (Al-Isra wal-Mi'raj).
3. The Hijrah & The Madinan Community (622–630 CE)
Migrating to Yathrib (Madinah) in 622 CE—marking year 1 AH—he established brotherhood between Muhajirun and Ansar, constructed the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi), and ratified the Constitution of Madinah. Key defensive battles occurred at Badr (2 AH), Uhud (3 AH), and the Trench (Khandaq, 5 AH), leading to the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah (6 AH).
4. The Peaceful Conquest of Makkah & Farewell Pilgrimage (630–632 CE / 8–10 AH)
In 8 AH, the Prophet entered Makkah peacefully, cleansing the Kaaba of idols while announcing universal forgiveness to former persecutors: "No blame will there be upon you today. Go, for you are free." In 10 AH, he delivered the monumental Farewell Sermon (Khutbat al-Wada') establishing universal human equality regardless of race or ethnicity.
