Accurate, Transparent Zakat Calculation
IslamIQ's Zakat Calculator enables Muslims to accurately determine their annual 2.5% Zakat obligation across liquid savings, precious metals, trade assets, and deductible short-term debts in compliance with classical Islamic jurisprudence.
Step 1: Check Current Nisab Values
Compare your total net zakatable assets against the Nisab baseline:
- Silver Nisab (Recommended for Cash): 612.36 grams of silver.
- Gold Nisab: 87.48 grams of gold.
If your net assets exceed the Nisab for one lunar year (Hawl), 2.5% is due on the total net amount.
Step 2: Add Zakatable Assets
- Cash & Bank Balances: Cash in hand, current accounts, savings, and fixed deposits.
- Gold & Silver: Market value of pure gold/silver jewelry, bars, or coins.
- Business Inventory: Wholesale cost of goods held for sale.
- Investment Portfolios: Liquid cash portion and trade value of shares.
- Loans Lent Out: Monies owed to you that are expected to be recovered.
Step 3: Deduct Immediate Liabilities
You may deduct overdue utility bills, outstanding employee wages due, and immediate monthly installments on long-term debts. Long-term debts not yet due are not deducted in their entirety.
Distribution & Disbursal
Zakat must be distributed to the eight eligible categories designated in Surah At-Tawbah (9:60), prioritizing impoverished relatives, local destitute families, and reputable transparent Muslim charities.
